Tinkham Veale University Center, Case Western Reserve University

The iconic 82,000 square foot Tinkham Veale University Center is at the heart of the Case Western Reserve University campus. Its anthem to “think beyond the possible” reflects the environmental design. It pushes every architectural concept known in the building industry, with not a single 90-degree angle in the design. Customized roller shades were a must.

Designer Accents consulted with our design team early on in the blueprint process to develop a roller shade system, specifically for a unique interior space that promotes the building’s thermal efficiency. It consists of two 42-foot high glass walls separated by a 3-foot cavity. Air in the cavity is heated and cooled (with shades regulating light exposure) to control the building temperature. Designer Accents worked directly with our design team to create shades that accommodate the building’s innovative design.
