Terminal Tower Residences
Completed in 1930, Terminal Tower is an important part of Cleveland’s history. As art and architecture critic Steven Litt explains, “For decades, if you wanted to say ‘Cleveland’ visually in a way that instantly communicated the city’s pride, vigor and ambition … you used an image of the tower.”
K&D Group bought the historic building in 2016, with plans to renovate 12 of the office floors for 303 one- and two-bedroom apartments. Cleveland Construction took on the $100 million project. We had worked with both companies several times, and they trusted us with the job of designing and installing window treatments, melamine closet shelves, bathroom mirrors and custom-cut frameless heavy glass shower doors.
The floors did not stack precisely, which is common in historic buildings. As a result, there were about 60 different apartment floor plans, ranging from 550 to 1,300 square feet. Window sizes varied widely as well.
